1. ME read from Chapter 2 in Homesick. She and I discussed how the main character was treated as an American in China in the 1920s.
   
2. C&C finished Rapunzel by Paul Zelinsky. We all swooned when the prince's eyesight was restored by Rapunzel's tears. We made text-to-world connections, especially regarding twins.

An aside...

Ordering Happy Meals for six children at McDonalds is an exercise in combinations and permutations. If only we had enough time when ordering fast food to do a math lesson!
